The rules behind playing Farmville is quite simple once you’ve used the game for a long time, but to the newbie, they can be confusing.

The Big 6: Buttons in the Lower Right of Your Screen

The Multi-Tool
The multi-tool button is by far the most useful and you will normally want to have your cursor set to this. To set your cursor to the multi-tool, click the first button, the one that looks like your regular mouse cursor. This will then transform into anything you will generally need. It transforms into the harvesting tool if you move the mouse above a regular crop. If you position the mouse over a fallow ground, it becomes the plow tool.

The Plow Tool
The one that looks like a green hoe and the second button on the uppermost row is the plow tool. You can use this tool to make new fields and plow fallow ground so that it will be ready to plant.

The Shovel =Delete Tool
Be very cautious that you do not start clicking everywhere when your cursor is changed to this tool! Items around your farm will be removed and —all items that you click on will show this message:

“ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO DELETE “(item’s name)”?” Click

The Market
At the lower right part of your computer screen, you will be able to see a button with a tomato and pepper on it marked MARKET. It will transfer you to the Market when you click on it. Spend your coins and cash at the Market. photos of the seeds that you want to buy and a price underneath can be seen at the Market. It will also reveal how much xp an item earns you and how much the harvest from one square of field will be. Each square of field take 1 unit of seeds, the cost that you see in the Market. Because of your level some items may be indicated as LOCKED which will be inaccessible to you. You will unlock additional items as you level up. The Market has tabs for Animals, Seeds, Decorations, Buildings, Expand Farm plus Vehicles. Take a look through the tabs and see a number of items that you might want to purchase. By far you’ll spend the most time browsing through the seed tab to know what you want to grow.

Ribbons
See the button with the blue ribbon? That’s your Ribbons section which tracks of all your accomplishments. Scroll through and take a look if you would like to know what you need for you to collect the next color of ribbon for an achievement or just feel proud about your accomplishments.

Buttons at the Uppermost Part of the Screen
At the far upper left of the screen, you will see three brown buttons stacked on top of each other. They will display a message to show you what they control when you position the mouse over them:

• Eye: toggles graphic quality
• Speaker: turns the sound on or off
• Musical Note: Turns the music on and off

Next, if you look to your right, you will see a green button with a pile of gold coins next to it. It will show the amount of Farm Coins you have. It will fluctuate with your purchases and harvests.

Underneath it is a blue button with a plus symbol, marked “ADD COINS & CASH”. Do not click this. It takes you to a page where you can buy Farm Coins and Farm Cash with real money.

And speaking of Farm Cash, the blue button on the extreme right tells you how much Farm Cash you have. You will receive one Farm Cash each level you reach.

In the middle of top of your screen is your experience bar, blue with a star with it. It will fill up with experience points as you get it through various farming activities such as plowing and harvesting.

To post a note in the middle of your farm for your neighbors brown button with the speech bubble attached to it. It’s a good way to post your wishes or showing appreciation.

Finally, at the distant right of your screen is your farm’s name. It displays this (your name)’s Farm. Currently, you cannot change the name of your farm.
